How open will microsoft really be with symbian and windows mobile? No real answer by CEO Steve Ballmer, but saying that iphone isnt that open either with its apps regulations.

Its all about apps... Interacting with technology will become like interaction with people.screens embedded everywhere + portable.
Trens lead to a "pervasive computing platform" lowering the frontiers between devices,apps etc. "enabling everyone to participate in the knowledge society" like the example of netbook is already demonstrating now.

UPCOMING EVENT on February 18th: Challenges and Opportunities in 2009, Munich

The financial crisis is amongst us and will affect everyone in some way. Nonetheless, this event is not about discussing all the bad things around us, it is about providing a high-level, positive and casual platform for people in the technology/ internet industry to exchange ideas, experiences and create new business or collaboration opportunities.

The event is open to anyone who has purchased a ticket and will start at around 19:00. At around 19:30, there will be a number of short presentations about forthcoming challenges and opportunities in 2009. Afterwards, everyone will be able to discuss possible thoughts & experiences, synergies and collaboration opportunities, in a casual setting.

Each presentation will be about 5-10 minutes long and centre on either a challenge or opportunity in 2009.

Date, time and location The event will take place at the premium event location Lounge2 in Munich, on the 18th of February. The event will start at 19:00.
