Another Web 2.0 Expo New York speaker is Matt Biddulph, CTO of UK startup Dopplr (that recently has been acquired by Nokia). Tiburon-TV’s Viktoria interviewed the mobile social location expert on trends in mobile and applications.

„We’re seeing better and better datasets - a lot of tools for developers to build things with“ explains Matt. „Also, the devices and what you can do with them is expanding. There are phones with compasses and GPS and we’re playing with augmented reality. The phone is becoming something that is not just a communication device but part of your social life.“

According to Matt, the next big thing could well come from a small startup. „A downturn is a great time to start a startup. It’s a time to be daring and make a new company on no money“ Matt says. His tip is: „ Get outside the valley bubble, start a company in a little low-rent East Berlin back office and change the world from Europe!“

Here’s Viktoria’s interview with Matt from Mobile Dev Camp Amsterdam. More interviews from Web 2.0 Expo New York can be found here.
